How We Train
As an ACART volunteer you will have the opportunity to train in small and large animal care and handling, incident management, basic first responder duties, and disaster shelter management. You will also join us in our community outreach and disaster preparedness education, as we team up with local community partners to provide preparedness education for owners and their animals.
While animal handling and active shelter operations require some minimum level of physical ability, there are other activities that have few or no restrictions. Some of the above trainings are mandatory to participate in animal handling during a disaster.
